Overview
Whether you're using a very old operating system or just prefer the classic look of Synergy 1, we have some simple instructions to get Synergy 1 installed on your computers.
What You Need Before Installation
- An active Synergy license
- The Synergy 1 installation file from the download page
- At least two computers
- Administrator privileges on all computers to install and add firewall exceptions
- Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection (computers must be on the same network)
Step 1 - Copy Your Synergy License Key
Log into your Synergy account and copy your license key from the account page. You'll need this during the installation process.
Step 2 - Download the Latest Version
Get the latest version of Synergy 1 from the download page. Save the relevant installer file for your operating system version to a convenient location on your computer.
Step 3 - Run the Installer
Double-click the downloaded installer file in your Downloads folder (or wherever you downloaded it to), and double-click to install it.
Step 4 - Configure Your Computer
After installation, open Synergy and enter a name for your computer. Use only alphanumeric characters, hyphens, or underscores (e.g. Linux-One).
Click Continue when you have entered a name for your computer.
Step 5 - Enter Your License Key
Paste the Synergy license serial key you copied from Step 1, then click OK.
Step 6 - Choose update preference
Step 7 - Repeat on Other Computers
Repeat steps 2 to 5 on all computers that will be part of your Synergy setup.
Step 8 - Set up and configure Synergy
Once Synergy is installed, you can connect your computers and share your peripherals.
